The story opens up with the main character Naomi scrapping for some food on a dumpster container, living on the roughest part of Neptunite, Naomi struggles to survive everytime, working unhinged hazardous jobs.
Currently, Naomi has been the host of illegal robot fights, on an undercover coffee shop called "Slit Agile". That environment seemed to be made for her. Despite loathing it, Naomi is thriving to one day leave her planet and that keeps her going.
There are 9 main types of habitant liferoles: Whites (cyber-police), Zoomers (hackers), Zeppelins (musicians/ artists), Harbingers (assassins), Tamers (con-artists/thieves), Veterans (street experts), Greasers (mechanics), Sages (medtechs) and Tweets (reporters), for people who don't have their set role, they're referred to as Rogues. Naomi is a Rogue.

Different regions have different virtual environments, they are split by color characteristics according to which crystal the region is run by. There are 9 planets: Saphire, Emerald, Ruby, Opal, Tourmaline, Opaline, Neptunine, Iolite and New Jade.
Humans may contain cyber parts, the players embrace body modification, cybertech and bioengineering and have evolved with the crystals ence encompassing attributes specific to their planet's dominating color, however, there are ways of acquiring more than the attribute from your planet, mutations.
MUT4T10N level 1: Whom parents never left the planet, therefore met within the same environment and didn't evolve beyond that.
TRAIT: Eyes same color as their planet.
MUT4T10N level 2: Parents from different planets, have more crystal flux in their body that manifests more widely through the body.
TRAIT: Hair color will shift according to which planet they are in, eyes are different colors, one from each planet the parents were born in.
MUT4T10N level 3: Parents were both level 2, this will cause a special mutation that reflects as a body mark.
TRAIT: Subjects will have a glowing tattoo with the colors of the planets their parents had in them, with also being able to obtain crystal flux from any planet.
